How do I set up my energy?
Setting up your energy service is quick and easy. Simply book a call with one of our friendly advisers, who will guide you through the process and help you choose the best package for your needs. This service is completely free and designed to make moving in or switching providers hassle-free in just a few minutes.
We will also inform you if you or someone over the age of 18 will need to be present in the home for your installation
What is the difference between fixed and variable tariffs?
Variable tariffs may start with lower prices and no exit fees; however, costs could increase over time. On the other hand, fixed energy rates offer stability and predictability over a set period, shielding consumers from market fluctuations and unexpected bill hikes. Unlike variable rates, fixed options provide peace of mind and financial security, as they remain unaffected by market changes.
What is an exit fee?
An exit fee is a charge imposed by your energy supplier if you choose to terminate your contract early. Furthermore, if you’re on a dual fuel tariff—meaning you receive both gas and electricity from the same supplier—you may, unfortunately, be required to pay an exit fee for each service.
How far in advance can I set up my energy before moving in?
The earliest you can set up your energy supply is 30 days before the desired start date. In most cases, you can simply use your tenancy start date as the day you’d like your energy service to begin.
Do I get a discount if I set up multiple services with Home Telecom?
Yes, you absolutely do! In fact, we give our broadband customers a whole month of free internet when they arrange their energy or Sky services with us. However, please note that this offer does not apply to Council Tax or Water setup services.
How can I switch energy suppliers, and will there be any costs or disruptions?
Switching energy suppliers is hassle-free and straightforward. You can simply sign up online or call our Sales team on 01403 216131 to arrange the package that best suits your household. From there, we’ll take care of notifying your existing supplier for you.
However, if you’re still in contract with your current supplier, please be aware that an exit fee may apply.
How can I track my energy usage and monitor my energy consumption over time?
In addition, all customers will be offered a free smart meter, allowing you to easily track your energy usage and spending.
